Join public rooms, create private spaces for your crew, or jump into temporary rooms for quick events. Everything is designed to feel instant and lightweight, while still offering powerful community tools.

Chat Rooms, DMs, and Favorites

StormCord is organized around rooms. Each room can host a community conversation with its own identity (name, cover, background), and you can browse rooms, search them, and quickly join.

Need a direct conversation? StormCord also supports DMs (private chats) and a Favorites area so you can pin the people and spaces you use the most.

To keep things clear in busy discussions, StormCord supports real-time updates like online status (online/busy/away/offline), unread counters, and quick navigation between rooms and conversations.

Messaging is made for modern communities. You can share images, files, and audio, use stickers, and even get link previews when you paste a URL. Mentions help you call out specific people, and reactions make it easy to respond without spamming the chat.

Rooms can be open or protected. For example, a room can require a PIN to join, and moderators can manage access when needed. There are also safety tools like spam/flood controls, profanity filtering (optional), and reporting/flagging workflows.

StormCord isn’t limited to text: it also includes real-time calling features for room calls and private calls (audio/video), so your community can jump from chat to conversation in one click.

StormCord runs directly in your browser and supports an app-like experience with offline-friendly pages and notifications. You can use it as a guest or create an account depending on the community configuration.
