Official Xylonlife lore - Planet SS-404

An urban prophecy claims that the Struggler (the player) is capable of activating the HyperNet core. But to do so, he'll have to survive, understand the inner workings of SS-404 society, and above all... make ethical choices in a world that has forgotten any notion of right or wrong.

On SS-404, the HyperNet is a memory of the past, a legend that has been lost to time. The planet is a place of contrasts, where the remnants of a once-great civilization coexist with the harsh realities of survival.

In the distant future, humanity has colonized the stars, but some experiences have been erased from the records... Planet SS-404 is one of them. Enveloped by quantum storms and isolated from the HyperNet, it has become a haven for exiles, rebels, fugitive artificial intelligences and outlaw corporations.

This forgotten planet is home to an ancient and powerful technology capable of rewriting the memory of the universal network: a HyperNet core of unknown origin. Whoever controls it can reshape the digital history of the universe.

The inhabitants of SS-404 - called Xylons - are augmented survivors, bio-cybernetic clones or modified humans.

Each player takes on the role of a Xylon awakened in an abandoned container in the heart of Drift Core, a decadent neon-filled megalopolis controlled by rival factions.

Transmission received – 09/17/2025: The First Signal Incident!

A mysterious anomaly froze the inaugural race before it began, revealing lost rules, cryptic archives, and the first signs of the HyperNet’s power! A moment every Struggler will remember.

Strugglers, the inaugural launch was meant to mark your entry into the arena. But as the starting beacons were activated, a cryptic wave swept through the local network: the HyperNet briefly manifested.

The pilots were ready… but the race never began. Data froze in place, as if absorbed by an erased memory.

This event, now known as The First Signal Incident, triggered the release of a forgotten document: The Official Rules of the SS-404 Races. But that was not all. In the wake of the anomaly, an ancient archive resurfaced. It recounts the origins of SS-404, its connection to the HyperNet Core, and the dangers lurking within the Wildlands.

Some say the HyperNet Core itself tried to rewrite history. Others believe a faction deliberately caused this distortion to delay the start.

What is certain is that the true race has yet to begin.

In the meantime, every Struggler will receive a commemorative NFT "Echo of the First Signal". Its purpose remains obscure, but the oldest Xylons whisper that it may serve as a key, or a catalyst, when the HyperNet manifests again.

Strugglers who are whitelisted: you can now claim your Echo of the First Signal. The drop will be available in the next few hours.
